History

The first company "Overseas Group" - "Overseas Cargo International" – was registered in St. Petersburg in 1994.

From the first day of its existence, the company was a subagent of one of the largest marine container carriers "Evergreen Marine Corporation» (Evergreen Marine Corporation) and specialized exclusively in the transportation of containerized cargo.

Initially, the bulk of cargo was arranged through the port of Finland with the subsequent delivery of containerized cargo in Moscow and other Russian regions by road. In order to coordinate deliveries and interaction with clients branch in Moscow has been established immediately after the registration of the company in St. Petersburg.

In parallel with the work as a sub-agent of the shipping line group "Overseas" has begun to develop an independent freight forwarding business. However, the company hasn’t focused on the resale quite cheap offshore rates obtained from the Principal, but on the development of the range of additional services - «value added services».

In 1996, in order to improve the quality and reduce the cost of transportation services provided by the Group's management has decided to create its own trucking company.  In the group appeared the company "INTERCARGO Plus", with its own rolling stock.

The crisis in the 1998 was the true test of the viability for our group of companies. It forced all employees to demonstrate their fighting qualities. We understood that in a condition of decline in freight traffic only high quality and wide range of services allowed to maintain the minimum number of customers, which was necessary for survival in a crisis.

Since 1999 the company was actively developing new activity - providing warehousing services in Finland. On Finnish territory we has been arranging own storage space, which were constantly increasing. From that time our clients have been able to store their goods outside the customs border of the Russian Federation and to form consignments for further import to Russia based on the specific needs of its customers. In order to optimize deliveries of goods to the Finnish warehouse we have begun to offer our customers a new service - transportation of goods by heavy vehicles up to 170 cubic meters.

Economic recovery in Russia in the early 2000s and the subsequent growth in freight traffic have made the management group to reflect on issues of internal restructuring.

Besides, client’s demand of additional services and the necessity to coordinate the shipping process has been increasing all the time.

In 2003, the leadership of the group decided to allocate the forwarding business in a separate structure. Within the group established a comprehensive logistics company "Overseas Freight Agency", which is the official agent in Russian for "Evergreen Logistics Corporation», a member of the group of companies "Evergreen» (Evergreen Group). As a result, “Overseas Freight Agency" could suggest to the clients all the features of  the partners, that were available in China, countries in Southeast Asia , in North America – an extensive network of offices, own warehouses for consolidation and temporary storage of goods, licenses exporter, advanced communication features and others.

In 2004 subsidiary of "Overseas Freight Agency" registered in Moscow with the same name, which began to develop new services for sending goods from Southeast Asia by air with the office of "Evergreen Logistics Corporation".

At the same time, in order to expand the geography of services, another branch in Novorossiysk has been opened.

The result of nearly 12 years of cooperation in the field of linear agency with "Evergreen Marine Corporation" became  the registration the joint venture "Evergreen Shipping Agency (Russia) Limited" in St. Petersburg in September 2005, in which our company "Overseas Cargo International" acts as a co-owner.

In order to provide customers with a group of high-quality services for the transportation of goods from other regions of the world, which were not previously covered, in 2005 the group activated cooperation with the Dutch company West Europe Container Line BV (WEC Lines BV),  which provided service in Europe as well as in East Africa, the Caribbean and Cuba. At the end of 2008 in order to deepen and broaden cooperation  the group created a separate company "WEC Russia ".

Group of companies "Overseas" confident in their future and continues to develop and diversify its activities towards expanding both the range and geography of the services. We hope that we can always meet your needs in the field of transport, in whatever part of the world they occur.

about us

Who has not encountered the problem of the organization of transportation of import or export goods? How to choose the "right" carrier? Is the rate competitive? Whether will the goods be delivered on time? Is the safety of the cargo being guaranteed? These and many other questions related to the transportation of your goods, you probably also faced them more than once.  And sometimes you thing that it would be great if someone could take care of all these problems. This "someone" could be for you an international group of companies "Overseas Group».

For more than 15 years companies within our group represent on the Russian market the interests of various companies of the group "Evergreen» (Evergreen Group), including the interests of "Evergreen Logistics Corporation» - a logistics unit group that provides comprehensive transportation services, organically complementing ocean service of one of the world's largest marine container carriers - "Evergreen Marine Corporation» .

Over the past since the founding time from a small group of "aggressive" company we have grown into a serious business structure with its own rolling stock, own offices in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Novorossiysk, extensive computer network, as well as highly professional and dedicated staff .

From the first day we set ourselves the goal: the quality of services we provide in Russia must meet the highest international standards, despite our "national identity". This required from each employee complete dedication to work, a sense of personal responsibility for the future of the company and the hard daily work.

Of course we had our ups and downs, mistakes and failures, victories and defeats. But, working as a team, united by a common purpose to achieve the desired result, we were able to overcome all difficulties and are ready to offer you the following service products, for which we will not be ashamed of the most demanding customers.

Despite the large amount of cargo transported by us, we are trying to work not as a supermarket ready-made clothing "prêt-à-porter", as well as boutique "haute-couture", offering our customers tailor-made logistics solutions that take into account the specific features of the organization of their trade.

Our motto is: "Decent client - decent service." We would like to see you are not one-time customers, but long-term partners, for which our professional knowledge and experience could become an additional tool in the successful development of your business. We look forward to working side by side with you in the interests of our common prosperity.

Chairman of the group of companies "Overseas"
